New Glasstalk Date Announced: Business Mixes Easily With Pleasure As Northern Venue is Announced

Following the extraordinary success of the GlassTalk networking event that took place in March, in response to huge demand the organisers have announced a further event to take place at De Vere Daresbury Park Hotel, Cheshire, on 3rd November.

Beginning as a simple suggestion to the question of ‘What do we do now that Glassex has been cancelled’, GlassTalk offered 150 guests an opportunity to network with each other and listen to industry experts thrash out key issues. So successful was the event that the second date will allow larger numbers to participate in a planned programme that will allow more networking – the ‘speed-dating’ format that proved to be so popular – and a series of slicker, more energetic ‘On The Couch’ discussions.

Refinement rather than a radical overhaul has been the core principle in the planning of GlassTalk, which produced glowing comments in its wake with many reports of new business relationships being established between buyers and suppliers that would not otherwise have happened.

Daresbury Park, located close to the M56 in Cheshire, has been chosen for facilities that will maintain the close atmosphere that was a key element of the original whilst allowing more guests, crucial to widening the networking ‘circle’. The facilities at Daresbury Park will also ensure that the networking will continue well after the programmed sessions have ended, again an important part of the success story that established GlassTalk. There will also be a new facility through the GlassTalk website (www.glasstalk.co.uk) that allows guests to register their contact information for exclusive access to other GlassTalk guests attending the event.

Despite a larger capacity the organisers are aware of the need to maintain the close atmosphere that was a key factor in the original event, says Matthew Glover: “Guests at the first GlassTalk have made it clear that one of the key factors was the atmosphere that ensured everyone felt a real part of the event and we have been very careful to choose a venue that will maintain that whilst allowing more guests to join in. It is important after all to extend the network that we established whilst ensuring it remains personal and that the format works easily.”

About Glasstalk
When Glassex was moved to a date later in the year many in the industry felt that it was an important loss to the industry not just as a show but as a networking event. With this in mind Matthew Glover (Conservatory Outlet), Andrew Glover (West Yorkshire Windows) and Jon Twigge (RoofWright) came up with the idea of the glazing industry’s first networking event. The result is and was GlassTalk.
